SUSAN RYAN has established herself as one of Chicagoland’s top photojournalists in wedding and portrait photography. Noted for her artistry and poetic vision, she is celebrated for skillfully capturing storytelling moments while her subjects may not even be aware of the camera’s presence. Susan uses the latest digital technology in both capture and post production and is a fond of using natural light whenever possible. Being entrusted with capturing life events that unfold is an honor for Susan and she thoroughly enjoys her work. Her style is composed, professional, unobtrusive, and personal. Susan is well known in the industry and has an excellent reputation with clients and peers alike.

Susan grew up in the western burbs after moving to Chicago from the east coast. She became interested in the artistic process in high school and pursued visual arts study at both NIU and Columbia College.
Susan has and continues to donate her time and services in fundraising efforts for many local charities including Lakeview Pantry, Welles Park Playlot, Emerald City Theatre, Redmoon Theatre Co., ArtSmart, Chicago Bears Foundation, American Cancer Society, Coat Angels, Chicago Public Schools, Girls on the Run, Cabrini Green Legal Aid, Tri City Family Services, Fox Valley Food for Health, Natural Resources Council and the Appalachia Service Project.
